With the ever-changing knowledge about killifish in general and the relationship of one species to another has come a continually changing litany of names. Fish that were once known as Roloffias are now known as Aphyosemions, for example, and some of the Nothobranchius have been redesignated as Simpsonichthys
In an effort to clarify some of the confusion, in May of 1998 Richard Sexton compiled a list of the fishes “previously known as Roloffia”, including both their three letter codes and subgenus information. We present the list here for general information.
