Remember the scariest thing is when someone says I’m from the government and I’m here to help.  Well they may be trying to "help" again.  Part of the Competes Act, H.R. 4521, would potentially limit our ability to enjoy this hobby.  Instead of creating lists of fish (and other creatures) that are prohibited they are proposing a white list of fish (and other creatures) that are allowed to be kept.  The problem with this is the onerous and likely expensive process of getting individual species listed.  Hat tip to the ALA (American Livebearers Association) for the link attached explaining the proposed legislation.  It might be time to contact our representatives proactively.
