Distinguishing Characteristics

Males are reported to have 'greenish glitter on sides' with 3 horizontal stripes on the front half of the body, wine red in colour. Red spots are shown on the dorsal, anal & caudal fins.

Females are reported 'smaller & duller' with 'three rows of fine red spots on sides'.

Little is known apart from the original description. Temperature 23-26°C. This species is reported to 'dislike fresh water'.

Very little is known about this species apart from Ladiges' original description. This is a valid description according to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature but may be regarded as nomen dubium.
