This was a common practice among aquarists in the olden days of the 1960's when I started in the hobby. Last year I went back to doing this and my fish look better than ever. I haven't had a dead one in a long time and the water even has a luster I haven't seen in a long time. Those old timers like the late Mr. Warner are still giving good advice.

hi,
I looking at a new batch of Moema quiii I just got at an auction. I realized the female had a deformed tail. Its a small defect. I got nervous because it reminded me of diseases that leave minnows with curves in the spin. Being that it was in the tail and a show fish, I think most likely its due to being in a small container a lot of the time. I know any disease that effects the fish spine can't really be cleaned. I was wondering if this fish is known for tail defects or if show fish are known for tail defects due small spaces?
Thanks
