Distinguishing Characteristics Similar to Mic.hetereaui.
Quoted in description - "dorsal and fins with weak brown stripes perpendicular to the rays of the fins (vs. with curved stripes); fin with a weak brown marginal band with no light submarginal band (vs. with a dark brown marginal band and a light submarginal band); caudal fin with irregular vertical markings forming a reticulated marking (vs. narrow vertical stripes); as well as for both sexes the sensory system at the preorbital level in a little protond channel with three exposed neuromastes (tubular vs. with three pores); sensory system at the mandibular level".
