Meaning of Name

An intermediate between moensis & traudeae.

First Description

Radda A.C. 1974 (Aphyosemion mirabile intermittens).

Size

7 cm. Some reports suggest 8 cm in males.

Meristics

D = 13, A = 15, D/A = 4·5, ll = 32.

Etuku

Bayok - I have seen so many spellings similar to this one - 'Mayok', 'Bajok'. Unsure if this is the same population or different.

Tinto - Collection MG 89. Unknown collecting trip. I have listed an MG 2009 but no information available on that one either.

Type Locality

6 km south of Bakebe, on the road from Mamfe to Manyemen. They were caught in a small river.

Distinguishing Characteristics Dorsal fin has wide yellow marginal bands.
Some females can show a dull yellow in the outer half of the dorsal & anal fins.
Colour/Pattern Variability Medium - High. Male red blotches can be seen random or arranged in horizontal lines.
