History

First
imported to the UK by the BKA in early 1975. Caught on the outskirts
of the mining village of Rayfield on the Jos Plateau. Reported to reach
5"+ (12·5 cm) in length. This collecting site has since been destroyed due to the development of a pumping station being built over the area. Fred Wright et al visited the original collecting site in June/July 1977 & found them in cool water in an exposed area. |
