History |
The original description appeared in Dutch, a language
not regarded valid by the International Rules for Zoological Nomenclature. A re-description
which some authors regard as the valid description appeared in 1983 in 'Ergänzende
Beschreibung von Epiplatys hidegardae Berkenkamp
1978 (Pisces:Cyprinodontidae)'. Revue de Zoologie Africaine 97 (4): p 852-860,
figures. Collected by H.Olsen in 1963/64 in Guinea. Scheel initially considered these to be olbrechtsi. A preliminary report on this sp. was published in Ichthologische Mitteilung No.14. Collected by Cauvet in 1991 who contributed information on distribution.
Breeding Notes |
I can find no information on breeding this species but would presume they are similar in breeding habits as E.fasciolatus fasciolatus.
