Populations

Type Locality

Lake Ndaminzé, Northern Gabon.

Distribution

Currently only known from the type locality - lower Aloumbé river, Northern Gabon.
Replaced to the east by A.flavocyaneum.

Habitat

Discovered in a lake 1 km long. Fish found near banks under the shadow of large trees & roots extending into the water. Also collected in small stagnant pools of water with muddy bottoms.
Sympatric species: Unknown Aphyosemion sp., un-named Epiplatys sp., Poropanchax stigmatopygus.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Males have a pale blue anal fin without sub marginal bands.
