Type Locality

Ngounie´ Province, Gabon. Tsamba-Magotsi district. 1 km west of Ikobey on the road from Route 22 to Sindara, a small stream named Don- do part of the Ikoy River drainage (01°02.986’ S, 10°58.726’ E). Collected 17 July 2014 by Wolfgang Eberl & Francois Mengila.

Distribution

Currently only known from the type locality. Northern part of Du Chaillu Massif.

Habitat

A small stream ( Dondo) which at the time of collection was not wider than 60 cm & not deeper than 20 cm.
No other fish were found. No aquatic vegetation. Also present were freshwater shrimps, tadpoles & aquatic insects.

Distinguishing Characteristics Heavy red lines & spots on body & all unpaired fins on males.
Females have 4 grey/brown lines running horizontally along the body. The bottom line consists of a row of 4-5 reddish dots.
