The Texas Area Killifish Organization (TAKO), is an American Killifish Association (AKA) Affiliate Club.

TAKO is a group of fish enthusiasts whose primary focus is the maintenance, breeding and sharing of killifish .  Our meetings, either at a member’s home or via zoom, are free of charge and open to any fish fanatics.  We primarily serve Texas and the Southwest, with members currently scattered across the USA.

  • There are no dues to membership; only an interest in killifish and friendships.
  • Meetings are normally held at member’s homes or via ‘zoom’ since the pandemic, usually with a fish room tour, a presentation and a club supporting auction, wherein killies, other species of fish, plants, foods and assorted aquarium related paraphernalia are auctioned with all proceeds going to the club to support future shows, speaker travel expenses, room rentals for shows, etc.
  • There is normally an AKA sanctioned show each year in July – The TAKO BELLE REVUE.
