MAKA, an affiliate club of the American Killifish Association, is
one of the oldest specialty aquarium associations in the United States.
Organized in 1970, the club's members have included such well-known aquarists
as Rosario LaCorte, Harry Faustmann, Lenny Mackowiak (former AKA New & Rare
Species Committee Chairman) and George Slusarczuk
(former editor of the AKA Journal.)
The Metropolitan Area Killifish Association meets the 3rd Wednesday
of each month at the Lyndhurst Masonic Club, 316 Riverside Av, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.

directions. The meeting hall opens at 8:00 PM allowing adequate time for fishy
talk among attendees. The usually brief formal meeting generally begins with a brief
discussion of club business, followed by a fish related presentation, and a usually
large auction of fish, eggs, plants, and dry goods. Refreshments are served.
