Don't believe those rumors about it always raining in Oregon. It does rain in the winter, but as you can see from these graphs for the Portland area, it is dry in the summer and we usually don't get much rain in May.
Average daily maximum temperatures in May are near 70 and we sometimes have temperatures in the low 80s on Memorial Weekend. May is a beautiful time of year to visit us. The flowers are in bloom and you'll love the rhododendrons on the coast.
We do recommend bringing a sweater and a light jacket especially if you plan to visit the coast. It can be cool out there.
